Laboratory Technician – Aberdeen

We are currently looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to join our Technical team based in Aberdeen who has an interest in, or experience of, Construction Laboratory work.   

The Division is involved in laboratory testing of concrete, soils, asphalt and other construction materials to UKAS standards. You will also be required to carry out on-site sampling and testing throughout the North of Scotland.  The successful candidate would ideally have a minimum of Highers or HND level qualifications or experience in a similar environment.  A valid UK driving license is essential.

Traffic Management Operatives, certified to Sector Scheme 12 – Markon Ltd, Cumbernauld

Employment opportunity in this expanding division of the Leiths Group

Scotland’s leading provider of specialist road services, Markon, has recently moved to a new purpose built HQ in Cumbernauld.  In line with continuous development and expansion, they require Traffic Management Operatives certified to Sector Scheme 12. Successful candidates are to be based at Cumbernauld and will provide Traffic Management assistance to the Road Marking and Planing Operations and to other group companies, as well as existing clients.

Crushing/Dump Truck Operative – Blackhills Quarry

We are currently seeking to recruit a Crushing Plant/Dump Truck Operative for our Blackhills Quarry. The post requires a current MPQC / CPCS skills card, ideally you will have industry related experience, knowledge of quarrying operations and be used to working in a labour intensive environment.  We are looking for someone who is a versatile, flexible and accommodating worker who has a clean driving licence.

Mobile Plant Fitter – Parkmore

We are currently seeking to recruit a Plant Fitter for maintenance and repair of our wide range of plant and fleet equipment.  Since the role requires a great degree of independence, extensive experience in fault diagnosis and repairs, as well as an ability to work on your own initiative, are essential. The role will be based primarily out of Parkmore but regular visits to other sites is a regular requirement and therefore transport is provided.

The ideal candidate will already come from a mechanical engineering background ideally with demonstrable experience as a mechanical engineer or fitter in the quarrying and/asphalt industry.  An HGV driving licence is desirable for this role.

You will be comfortable in a dirty engineering environment as the job is very hands on. You will be a team player who is equally comfortable working alone in order to meet the demands of this busy fleet and plant maintenance division.  Attention to detail along with a focus on Health & Safety is vital for this challenging and demanding role, as is experience of working to agreed deadlines.

HGV Driver (Hooklift) – Aberdeen

We currently have a vacancy for a Class 2 Driver for our Hooklift Lorry. The post requires to be filled by someone who is a versatile, flexible and a willing worker, who has knowledge of the local area and ideally has previous experience with skip operations. You will require a sound understanding of the EU rules on drivers hours and be fully conversant with tachograph charts and digital cards.

 The successful applicant will be required to commence at the earliest opportunity.   

Weighbridge / Administration Assistant – Fort William

We currently have a vacancy for a Weighbridge / Administration Assistant at our Fort William Quarry.

The main duties of the role are to carry out routine weighbridge operations and associated administrative duties.  Good organisational and communication skills are essential in this role as is previous administration experience. The successful applicant will be required to commence at the earliest opportunity.

Civil Engineering Operative – based in Aberdeen

We currently have a vacancy based at Aberdeen for the above position within our Construction & Surfacing Division.

We currently have the following vacancies, based in Aberdeen, for a Loading Shovel Operator, Excavator Operator and Dumptruck Operator.

All posts require a current MPQC / CPCS skills card, candidates would ideally have industry related experience and knowledge of quarrying operations.   We are looking for someone who is a versatile, flexible and accommodating worker who has a clean driving licence.

HGV Class 1 – Powder Tanker / Tipper Drivers

HGV Class 2 – Tipper / Mixer and Hooklift Drivers

Previous experience on tankers / tippers or mixers is preferred, as is experience with skip operations, however, not essential as full training will be provided. You should be versatile, flexible and a willing worker who has knowledge of the local area. You will also require a sound understanding of the EU rules on drivers hours and be fully conversant with tachographs charts and digital cards. 

Roadworks/Civil Engineering Chargehands – based in Aberdeen

We currently have vacancies within our Construction and Surfacing Division for the above vacancy.  You would ideally have worked within a civil engineering /groundwork environment holding a minimum of CSCS card qualification.  You must be able to show evidence that you have worked with and supervised a squad involved in all aspects of road maintenance and construction.
